Enrico Bongio (b. 1922) was a local environmental activist whose efforts focused on protecting the Temblor - Carrizo Plain - Caliente Area in eastern San Luis Obispo County. Bongio raised awareness over the condition of the range caused by sheep and cattle grazing and the resulting effects on the quail and chukar partridge populations.
